New – Assistant Match Secretary
“It’s one we’ve been working on for some time Jim……….”
I’m delighted to announce that Michael Hart Jnr will be joining the Match team and will take up the newly created role of Assistant Match Secretary working alongside me on all things handicap and competitions.
I’ll continue as Match and Membership Secretary but my focus will shift more towards the overall member experience (communications/lockers/trollies/apps etc) new member recruitment and improving how we operate as a club on things like HR, H&S and technology.
Working with Michael and the Match Committee I’ll still play a leading role in shaping the competition experience at Fereneze. Michael will take the lead on setting up and closing of events and dealing with handicap and competition queries. I know he shares the same vision as me on having “professional” well run events and I look forward to getting him up to speed for the season beginning.
I would ask that you afford Michael the same courtesies you do for me, please let him concentrate on his golf when he’s up there to compete in medals and save any questions for post round or later and give him the same support I had, and continue to enjoy, as he gets up to speed.
Continue for now to feed your Match and Handicap queries to me for now. I may hand some off to Michael to help him get familiar with systems and processes. Michael can be contacted on assistantmatchsecretary@ferenezegolfclub.co.uk if you want to add that to your contacts for the season beginning or wish him well.
100 Club
As it stands we have 22 of the 99 from last year committed for 2026. As a reminder the 100 Club was set up to raise some additional funds to complete some small projects that improve the member experience but also gives members a chance to win some money that they can either have paid into their bank or to top up their bar & kitchen account.
This year the 100 Club fund will part contribute to a new outside seating area and the painting of the exterior of the clubhouse.
- If you weren’t part of last year and want to join (we can definitely do more than 100) please email me and follow the steps below to pay your £60
- If you were part of last year but want to drop out this year please also email me to let me know so I can allocate your number
Payment can be made one of 4 ways:
- By Bank Transfer to 80-05-54 00270689
- Pay by debit/credit card using this link 100 Club Payment
